ARTICLE 13: DAY - 10 FINAL REFLECTION ON THE WORK IMMERSION EXPERIENCE
On my final day of work immersion, I reflected deeply on the entire experience and the lessons I gained throughout the program. From my first day in the laboratory, where I observed procedures and familiarized myself with the workplace, to my last day assisting patients confidently, I realized how much I had grown both personally and professionally. This immersion allowed me to develop essential skills such as effective communication, time management, responsibility, and attention to detail, all of which are important in a healthcare setting.
During the immersion, I learned how to interact with patients respectfully and empathetically, understanding that small gestures of care can greatly impact their experience. I also became more independent in completing tasks, while still knowing when to seek guidance from staff, which taught me the balance between confidence and humility. Collaborating with the laboratory team showed me the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and mutual respect, which are vital in any professional environment.
The challenges I faced, such as handling multiple tasks, assisting patients, and ensuring accurate results, helped me develop resilience, patience, and discipline. These experiences strengthened my interest in pursuing a career in healthcare, as I recognized the value of providing service to others and contributing to their well-being.
Overall, this work immersion was both challenging and rewarding. It provided me with practical knowledge, improved my skills, and enhanced my character. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain real-world experience that will benefit me in my academic journey and future career.
