ARTICLE 2: PESLA & LEGS SEMINAR
Our pre-employment seminar “Pre-Employment Seminar for Local Applicants and Labor Education for Graduating Students” (PESLA & LEGS) served as an important foundation in preparing us for our upcoming work immersion. It gave us a clearer understanding of what it truly means to be an employee and how the professional world operates beyond the classroom. Through the discussions, I realized that work immersion is not just about gaining experience, but also about developing the right attitude, values, and sense of responsibility.
During the seminar, we were taught about workplace expectations, employee roles, and proper conduct in a professional setting. Topics such as work ethics, discipline, respect, teamwork, and accountability were emphasized. These lessons helped me understand that being an employee requires more than skills it also demands professionalism, integrity, and commitment to one’s duties. Learning how to communicate properly, follow company rules, and respect authority made me more aware of the standards expected in the workplace. I appreciated that the seminar encouraged participation, allowing us to ask questions and share our thoughts. This made the discussions more engaging and understandable. Listening attentively helped me reflect on my own strengths and areas I need to improve before deployment. It also eased my worries by giving me an idea of what to expect during work immersion.
Overall, the pre-employment seminar prepared us prepare ourselves for our work immersion journey. It boosted my confidence and acknowledged me to apply the lessons learned once we are deployed. I am grateful for this opportunity, as it guided us toward becoming responsible, respectful, and work-ready individuals.
